Ten years ago, I purchased an ancient singing bowl from Tibet. It is over a 1000 years old.

In 1985 or 86, my partner and I went to see “Bread and Puppet,” an amazing puppet theater that was created by visionary
Peter Schulman of Glover Vermont. In August, while graduating from Goddard College in Plainfield, Vermont, a friend and I
went to see Bread and Puppet in an amazing theater that they have created in a barn next to the museum. It looked like
something in Indonesia, with figures on the ceiling and walls, and a balcony with a choir that sang, and read poetry. It was
awesome…..awesome. If you are going to Vermont, or have never heard of Bread and Puppet, I suggest you make plans to
go. I believe Schulman is in his 80’s now, and he still performs and makes and serves bread. He is a visionary that has stayed
true to his vision, and has ignited issues through the arts such as the war in Aphganistan and Iraq, in ways that travel deeply
through the psyche. Following are some photos from the performance with the dance troupe from Canada.

It only takes a moment….

Today, I saw a spectacular theater appear and disappear within a
10 minute window of time. I am in the mountains of N.c. in an area
called Leicester, near Asheville, N.C. It poured rain all day, the
Antiqua (Cherokee name for the French Broad River) was rising, and
rising, with white caps like the ocean. About 5:00pm, the sky opened
up, and colors appeared. A rainbow in a funnel shape appeared over
a mountain in the distance, and then an ocean of clouds resting below
the mountains in the distance. All that it takes is a moment….to look,
and to receive the bounty of beauty that appears, and disappears each
day.

The ability to heal rests within each of us. In Larry Dossey’s Book,
” Healing Words,” he says, “Love moves the flesh, it pushes matter
around….” When I see the sky open up, and see the magnificent
beauty changing before me, I feel the immense sensation of love that
connects me with every living thing, here and beyond.
